I was asked if I would paint an oil painting of the Cow and Calf, Ilkley based on a photo. The C&C is well known to cyclists and it was both a challenge and a pleasure to give it a try. ‘You don’t’ have to faithful to the original’, said Kate. So I let my imagination – go just a little. The photo was covered in lens flare, very dark and hardly a cloud in the sky. Well I love clouds and I love colour, as some might know. It also helped to know the area enough.
