August’s Leeds Art Walk focuses on art in Beeston, South Leeds, exploring more of this year’s Index festival and meeting the current artists in residence at Artist House 45, East Street Arts. It takes place on Wed, 7 August 2019, 5.30–7.30pm.
5.30pm: Sophie Chapman and Kerri Jefferis at Artist House 45 East Street Arts, 45 Garnet Terrace, Beeston, LS11 5JX.
Artists in residence Kerri Jefferis and Sophie Chapman will introduce you to their collaborative work and projects with East Street Arts in Beeston.
6.10pm: On The Corner at BasementArtsProject, 28 Back Burton Terrace, Leeds, LS11 5JH
On The Corner is a series of four events that will respond to the YSI 2019 statement proposed by the artist Phyllida Barlow: ‘Sculpture is the most anthropological of the art forms’. The project features artists Keith Ackerman, Dominic Hopkinson, Phill Hopkins and Jadene Imbusch.
BasementArtsProject is an artist-led initiative, located in a pre-war, mid-terrace house in South Leeds.

Leeds Art Walk takes place every month and is free to attend.

Buses to from Leeds city centre: 202 (Boar Lane, stop T7), 203 (Boar Lane, stop T7) and 2 (Vicar Lane, stop U5). Ask to get off at Dewsbury road/ Hunslet Hall or Tesco on Dewsbury road (same stop).
Getting back to Leeds city centre
