I am 22 and a freelance artist based in Yorkshire. I have been a full time Physics with Astrophysics student at the University of York for over 2 years and I have just finished my final year. My passion for creating art forms the time I use to relax when I am not studying. I cover a wide range of art themes including outer space, the ocean, landscapes and much more, During 2020, I took a year out from my studies which means I had more time to dedicate to my talent in art, which I have been gradually doing over a lifetime.
On one of my specific space art illustrations, I have used a high quality image of the moon I took on one of the optical telescopes I had access to, on this image you can see one of the Apollo landing sites around the Apennine mountains, which can be found on my Facebook page. During my time at university, I also worked with a H-Alpha solar telescope in the imaging of sunspots and solar flares on the surface of the sun, this inspired my painting of the stars. In my space art, I love to express how fascinating and wonderful our universe is and how seemingly complex it behaves.
My water themed art has a more peaceful and spiritual aspect, such as using calm underwater scenery and the ocean.
I work with a wide range of mediums such as fine-liner pens, tipex pen, pencil, coloured pencils and oil paint. In my space series, I enjoy combining different mediums to achieve a bold contrast effect in my black and white illustrations. With oil paint, I particularly enjoy working with vibrant colours, such as painting bright blue oceans or fiery orange stars.
