Shakiba is a Persian word with meaning of a gentle, patient, and tolerant person. I chose this name as my artistic name because of my life experiences and the need to remain patient during them.
I have been living in Leeds since Jan. 2014 due to being a PhD student in the University of Leeds. My PhD journey had many ups and downs. Finally, I submitted my thesis on 2nd March 2020. Very shortly, pandemic lockdown started, and the process of the thesis examination went to a stressful way. Nothing was under my control and I had already a bad memory of it, these made me more worried and nervous. I needed to manage my anxiety. My field is scientific but always art helps me in daily life. I started to perform some art works and finally I focussed on Acrylic Pouring Techniques for painting. It led to some relieve till the time I received pass result of the thesis examination and I obtained my PhD degree. But, my need to receive peace by painting did not stop and I continued to paint more piece of works. On Jan. 2021, one of my dear friends -after seeing images of my works- suggested me to join Yorkshire Art to share them. Therefore, I am here as a self-taught artist to share my paintings and to spread my good feeling due to them. If you like some of the works with any changes, you can send message for the commission.
