I am a watercolour landscape artist based in the small village of Winksley on the edge of the Nidderdale AONB area of the Yorkshire Dales.
We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful county and I am inspired daily by the local scenery and woodlands where I cycle and walk the dog. I have always loved the outdoors and we regularly visit Scotland in our campervan; so you will see plenty of Scottish landscapes in my work too.
Watercolour is such a great medium for accentuating atmosphere and my work usually includes a strong element of spatial perspective. I love how wet watercolour creates it’s own effects as it flows and dries. There is joy in never quite being in control of the paint. There are, of course, a few failures; but that just makes the successful ones even more special.
I hope you enjoy seeing my work and that it conveys my love of our wonderful landscapes.
