I’m Lucy Thompson, a Graphic artist from Teesside. I have over 6 years experience in learning design and the arts, specializing in Graphic Design. Throughout my education, I have gained professional experience working for a number of clients within this industry while working in a design agency alongside my Undergraduate degree. Whilst working towards my graphic design degree, I became passionate about image-making and typography and class these as my specialties within the design. Creating projects focusing on key social issues is something I always find myself leaning towards, and am truly passionate about spreading a message. From Projects focusing on youth gang culture within the Bronx, to modern working-class culture within Britain, I am always trying to find a way to communicate an alternative way of viewing and analyzing things that often have a stigma attached.
Although I deeply pride myself on my unique processes of image-making and incorporating typography within my work this isn’t the only element of design I explore. I enjoy integrating motion graphics within my work. Whether this is animated typography over photography or simple video work this is something I love to include within my design. I am always looking to develop myself and my work as a designer, and feel I am deeply passionate about the industry, and modern issues. I always feel it important to use our creativity to voice issues and movements to gain attention through the arts.
