I have found art late in life, I still work and have a busy life, yet five or six years ago I bought a set “of watercolour and also acrylics, my husband said “It doesn’t matter what you make as long as you enjoy it!” What I found very quickly is that it does matter. I am passionate about improving and getting better and better at my art, I am trying new areas, I have now decided that my favourite medium is oils, I love the fact that if it doesn’t work I can change it.
As an amateur artist I joined Doncaster Art Club 1897, and was daunted by the fact that it has a fabulous reputation, everyone was very kind and supportive, critique is always positive and encouraging and we also have our own exhibition once a year.
During lockdown I have been able to paint most days and I do feel that my improvement is noticeable, I am loving the freedom, and take every moment I can to lose myself in art.
I find peace in paint.
Those few words mean so much, from the stress of daily life and the toll that takes on the soul is eased and noticeably so when I paint, I find peace, I don’t think of anything only the work I am creating and time flies by. I love it so much, I do hope you like the work I am producing and enjoy browsing.
